It is Sunday afternoon, we have worked together for few hours , we have shared a space full of creativity. We love poetry, and writing a letter, an invitation, or an offering becomes a beautiful and complicated exercise. The creative acts bring us joy, laughter and camaraderie.
We are committed to our project, this one of transferring our love for nature into the community we have invited into it.
A family’s duty needed our attention, we stopped working. We combined our duty with a short visit to Nature.
We ran to the Sanctuary.*
Lori talks about the park, its small plants, its trees and its birds. Laura is taking pictures, trying to capture the spirit of the park in this February afternoon, the tree’s
reflections on the water, surfacing roots, birds flying overhead. We could hear the fluttering of their wings layering with the background sound of the traffic.
We have counted the nests, we have found seven. We want to show them to the kids. We want to visit those nets in different moments of the year. What kinds of birds are nesting here? We want to meet those birds.
Have we mentioned it was a cold afternoon? We didn’t feel it that way. We felt the warm coming from the excitement of this, our first nature plant together.
